Do ever just stand still and watch the people around you? I find myself doing this very thing as I am sitting in this restaurant all by myself.
Everyone is earring and talking about their lives. One man is talking about his grand kids and a painting that they have him and the women with him is smiling and nodding along. Another couple are discussing how good the food is.
The rest of chatter is just that. I can’t make out any words but you can see the people talking to one another.
I love people watching. People are interesting creatures. This is going to be an interesting lunch hour.

Motherhood and Beyond 
When I lived in the city I often wrote such vignettes about what was going on around me. Restaurant chatter is one of my happy sounds. If you sit still and relax then you will be able to make out all the individual conversations.
I wish I had the time earlier today to relax and actually be able to hear what everyone was saying.
